Anna Pearl Beech , 97, passed away September 23, 2007 in Grove, Oklahoma. Anna Pearl Chard was born, May 16, 1910 near Erie Kansas to Benjamin Franklin and Binnie Doris [Moore] Chard. Pearl attended rural grade school and graduated from Stark High School in 1928. She was active in athletics all four years. After graduating she was employed with Ash Lockhart Serum Plant in Kansas City, Missouri until 1933. Pearl and James E. Beech were united in marriage December 23, 1930, in Nevada Missouri and resided in Kansas City, Missouri until moving to Edna, Kansas where they went to work for the Standard Oil Company. In 1956, they moved to Chanute, Kansas where they owned and operated the Western Auto Store until 1975, when they retired. They move to Grove, Oklahoma in 1997. Memberships included the First Christian Church, Chanute, Kansas, Live member of Chapter 112OES, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Coffeyville, Kansas. She was an avid bowler and a Life member of WIBC. Survivors include a daughter, Coleen Thomas and her husband Robert, one granddaughter Stephanie Randolph and her husband Lannie all of Grove, Oklahoma. Two great-granddaughters Jennifer Phillips and her husband Lance of Moore, Oklahoma, Shauna Randolph, of Grove, Oklahoma, one step-son, James W. Beech and wife Mardelle of Erie, Kansas, three step-grandchildren, Michael Beech, Topeka, Kansas, Susan Buche and her husband Johnny Rae, Louisburg, Kansas, Mary Nevin and husband David, Lawrence, Kansas, two great-step grandchildren, Joyce and James Buche, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Anna in death was her husband James E. Beech, her parents, two brothers Carl and Elmer Chard, one sister Edna Michael and a granddaughter Lori Thomas. A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Chanute Kansas. Funeral service will be also held at the First Christian Church starting at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 27, 2007. Officiating the services will be Pastor Tom Eastman. Interment will be held immediately following at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donation be made to the First Christian Church, 102 N. Grant, Chanute, Kansas 66720 or the Mirza Temple Transportation Fund. Services have been entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
