Audrey Parkins

Audrey L. Parkins, passed away at the Grandwood Villa in Grove, OK on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the age of 80. Audrey was born on September 15 1933 in Douglass, KS, the daughter of the late Chancey Willy and Grace Pearl (Kelly) Martin. Audrey attended school in Douglass, KS. She married Herbert F. Parkins on June 17, 1949 in Douglass, KS. The couple resided in Kansas the majority of their lives including El Dorado and Augusta. Audrey worked for several years in the school district of El Dorado, KS. She was very involved in camping clubs, square dancing and the couple traveled extensively. Audrey enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing, fishing, and had a passion for Bridge but most of all she loved to be around her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her husband Herb of 64 years; one son Roger L. Parkins of Port Angeles, WA; two daughters: Molinda Hull of Grove, OK and Bonnie Oelschlager of Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 1PM at the Honey Creek Retirement Village in the Community Room.
