Grove - After a long illness Clarice Faye Stewart died January 18, 2007 at home in Grove, Oklahoma. Clarice was born on October 17, 1933 to Dale and Ethel (Cox) Lister in Rose Hill Iowa. Clarice graduated high school in Ottumwa, Iowa. Clarice married Lyle "Rex" Stewart October 3, 1951. She worked for thirteen years as a secretary for Beech Aircraft in Wichita Kansas. Clarice has lived in Grove for the last twenty years. She was very involved with bred birds such as cockatiels, parakeets and parrots. She also enjoyed raising German Shepherds. Clarice was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grove, and past officer of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her two sons, Jeff Stewart of Grove, Oklahoma and Wayne and his wife Marilyn of Purcell, Missouri, one sister Dorothy Hoyman of Greeley, Colorado, several nieces, nephews, and one special niece Denise Bunch, three grandchildren, Sarah, Joseph and David Stewart. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Rex Stewart. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Visitation for family and friends will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the Ellis Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday January 22, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Grove, Oklahoma with Rev. Randall Hamill officiating. A private committal for family will follow at Olympus Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
