Delores G. Robinson, age 91, passed away on December 27, 2014 at The Grandwood Assisted Living Center in Grove, Oklahoma. Delores was born on May 27, 1923 in Carl Junction, Missouri. She was the daughter of Daniel O. and Myrtle C. (Barger) Gentes. During WWII, Delores worked on the Burchell Bombers installing the front sights and compasses for the aircraft in Kansas City, Missouri. She was also responsible for testing all the flight instruments on the PT & AT training places for the Royal Air Force Cadets which trained at Spartan School in Miami, Oklahoma. Delores was united in marriage to Alvin E. Robinson in June of 1955. In her younger days, Delores enjoyed the outdoors from swimming, picnics and bike riding with her family. A weekly trip was made to the Ice Cream Garden in Joplin for packaged ice cream to take home and enjoy. Deloris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grove, former member of the Miami Professional Women's Breakfast Club, Humane Society in both Grove and Miami, and a member of the Cherokee Tribe. Delores loved the Lord and centered her life on her faith. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin, her brother Wayne Davis, his first wife Mildred and second wife Bobbye, her sister Loretta Crouch Dooley and husband Clarence, and second husband Nick, her nephew Melvin Lynn Davis, her nephew Richard K. Crouch and wife Viola, and great nephew Gary Bradley Crouch. Delores is survived by her stepchildren; Charles Robinson of New Orleans, and Marcella Parker of Oologah, Oklahoma, nephews; Jerry W. Davis and his wife Mary of Miami, Oklahoma, Gary Crouch and his wife Linda of Ovilla, Texas, niece; Marlene Holt and husband Phill of Newcastle, Oklahoma, great nephews; Justin Crouch and Jason Crouch of Quapaw, Oklahoma, great nieces Kristy Crouch of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kari Vincent and husband Jim of Frisco, Texas, and two step-grandchildren Julia Stout and her husband Bill and Sheryl Hicks and her husband Darrell, and one great grandchild Melissa Lutz. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Grove, Oklahoma with Pastor Jim Pasley officiating. Delores will be laid to rest beside her husband in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Oklahoma. Friends and family may leave online condolences by viewing Delores' obituary at www.ellisfuneralhome.com.
