Dolores Elmire

GROVE - Dolores Marie Elmire, age 80, died early Christmas morning at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma. Dolores was born September 16, 1927 to George and Clara "Green" Elmire in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Hop Bottom High School in Hop Bottom Pennsylvania, and attended Marywood College in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Dolores worked for the Girl Scout Foundation. She was a member of the Methodist church in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. She was very involved with the AARP foundation, past president in 1993 & 1994, awarded National AARP Community Service award in 1996, also Chapter Queen in 1996. Dolores was co-chairman for the Wall-of-Honor for the Grove Civic Center in 1999, and spent time volunteering at the Grove Senior Center in Grove, Oklahoma. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may leave online condolences by viewing obituary at www.ellisfuneralhome.com. A private burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
