Fred "Ralph" Stumbo Jr., age 94, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma. Ralph was born on December 7, 1913 to Fred and Stella (Gibson) Stumbo Sr., in Web City, Missouri. He attended high school in Joplin, Missouri, graduating in 1932. He married Claudine Evans on December 30, 1950. Claudine preceded him in death December 2007. Ralph retired in 1973, as a franchised distributor for Pepperidge Farm bread products, and worked for the Joplin Globe as a distributor for 21 years. After retirement, Ralph moved to Grove, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Grove United Methodist Church, he was a 32nd degree mason at the Grove Masonic Lodge, K.C.C.H., Scottish Rite Masons (Tulsa & Joplin), a charter member of the Shrine Oriental Band and director for 21 years, member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine of Springfield, Missouri, Order of the Eastern Star Grove, Oklahoma. He was a multi-gallon blood donor American Red Cross, A past chairman of Delaware County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Ralph is survived by his daughter Patricia Ann Olson of Joplin, Missouri, four grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, one nephew, three nieces, and step-mother Sue Stumbo from Bentonville, Arkansas. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother Bill Wilson of Neosho, Missouri, and one sister Maxine McGorder of Alvin, Texas. Friends may pay their respects anytime after 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2008 in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2007 at the Ozark Memorial Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri. Services have been entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
