Jennie Prater

Lifetime resident of the Grove area, Jennie Dale Prater, age 93, died on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Betty Ann Nursing Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Jennie Dale was the daughter of Jess and Martha Jane (Fields) Payton. She was born on April 7, 1918 in the Dodge area east of Grove, Oklahoma. Jennie Dale loved to sew, quilt, crochet, cook, enjoyed spending time outdoors in the garden or with her flowers. Jennie Dale is survived by her son Lewis Prater and his wife Joleta, daughter Joyce Scott and her friend Donald James, three grandchildren Daniel, Violet, James and three great-grandchildren Zac, Tylor and Evan, five stepchildren Donnie Hamilton and his wife LeeAnn, Loren Hamilton, Chris Hamilton, Tami Hamilton and wife Kristi Dusenbery and Sis Short and her husband Chuck. She is also survived by her two nieces Lillian West and Eva Eck and many other loving relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 at the Fields Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend Stephen Higgs officiating.
