John Edson

Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma (918) 786 - 5172 - John "Claude" Edson, 76 year old resident of Grove, Oklahoma and formerly of Augusta, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 in Grove. Claude was born in Benton, Kansas on October 4, 1938 to his parents Hubert and Lois Audry Edson. He grew up and lived in the Wichita, Kansas area until he moved to Grove, Oklahoma after retiring from Boeing after 37 ½ years as a machinist. On June 30, 1997 Claude married Mary Peterson in Miami, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Grand Lake Baptist Church in Grove and enjoyed bowling, smoking cigars and pipes, working on cars, and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Arlene Edson; Claude is survived by his wife Mary of the home; four sons, Randy Edson and wife Kristen of Wichita, Kansas; Andrew Edson and wife Lisa of Taylor, Texas; Oliver Edson of Augusta, Kansas; and Robert Chandler of Kansas; two daughters, Sandra Taylor and husband Kurtis of Augusta, Kansas; and Kari Jones and husband Sean of Towanda, Kansas; Richard Edson, Terry Edson; step son Jason Johnson of Grove, Oklahoma, step daughter Chastity Hogan of Wakita, Oklahoma; two brothers Ronnie Edson of Fredonia, Kansas; and Eugene Edson of Benton, Kansas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Graveside Inurnment services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Benton Cemetery in Benton Kansas with Rev. Andrew Edson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (866) 232 - 8484 or to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 2084 S. Main, Grove, OK 74344 (918) 786 - 6182 in honor of John Claude Edson.
