JAY: John "Wes" Gardner, age 46, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma. John was born on August 8, 1961 to James D. Gardner, Sr. and Clara May "Morrow" Gardner in Monticello, Arkansas. John worked as a laborer in the poultry industry. He married Quahnah Quinton in Jay, Oklahoma, January of 1992. He loved to fish and spend time with his family. Survivors include his mother Clara Lloyd of Hope Arkansas, wife Quahnah Gardner, son Cody, daughter Katie, two grandchildren, Kaylea and Zane all of the home, his brother and best friend James Gardner, Jr. and his wife Rozetta of Colcord, Oklahoma, nephew James Gardner III and his wife Beverly of Jay, Oklahoma, another brother and two sisters and three children and grandchildren from a previous marriage, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wes was preceded in death by his father J.D. Gardner, Sr. and one brother Jim Gardner. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Butler Baptist Church. Brother Paul Large will be officiating with songs from JoAnn Hale with Shirley Keene accompanist. Serving as casket bearers will be James Gardner III, Greg Crittenden, Thomas Larson, Jonathon Lewis, Kyle Keith, Josh Pifer, and honorary casket bearer, John Merchant.
