Grove: John L. Koehne, age 75, passed away at his home in Grove, Oklahoma on June 7, 2008. He was born on March 22, 1933 in Oldham, South Dakota to Alvina and Carrol Koehne. At the age of one, the family moved to Northern Minnesota where he attended school and graduated from Bagley High School in 1951. John joined the United States Marine Corps in 1951, served in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged after eight years of active and reserve duty. He was a general and specialty contractor, known in many stages for his expertise in building unique and custom homes. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Valborg Koehne, four daughters, Linda Frink and her husband Ed of Homer, Alaska, Breta Campbell and her husband Bob of Roosevelt, Utah, Karolyn Grodal of Grove, Oklahoma and Jodi Carson-Stubbs and her husband Joey of Volente, Texas; one brother Darmon Koehne and his wife Kathleen of Jay, Oklahoma, one sister Sharon Gardner of Princeton, Minnesota; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Caryl Ferguson. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
