Joseph Knapp

Joseph Samuel Knapp, age 82, died at his residence on August 3, 2009. Joseph was the son on Samuel A. and Ruth M. (Scott) Knapp and was born on January 10, 1927 in Oilton, Oklahoma. Joseph received a Purple Heart for his service during WWII in the United States Navy and in the Air Force. Joseph worked as a geologist / draftsman for the Texaco Oil Company for over 30 years. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was also a past Scout Master. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his best friend James L. Frazier of Bernice, Oklahoma, one brother Bradford Kapp of Chicago, Illinois, son Jerry Knapp and his wife Dorothy of California, grandchildren Michael, Jason and Michelle, great-grandchildren Paul, Alyssa, Avery and Liam. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. No public services are planned at this time.
