Lena Fields

Lena Lee Fields, 93, of Verdigris passed away November 16, 2012. She was born April 30, 1919 in Glenpool to Ellis Lee Renfro and Lorene (Congdon) Renfro. She married Rufus Fields July 5, 1937 in Reno, N.V. The couple had two sons. Together they built and ran Fields Mfg. for 19 yrs. until they retired in 1980. After retirement they built their own home in Verdigris where she resided until her death. She loved life, her family, OU and her dog Pepper. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Fields and wife, Pat of Verdigris and Jack Fields of Catoosa; five granddaughters, Becky Hill and husband, Allen of Tulsa, Vickie Hefner and husband, Rusty of Talala, Gina Coon and husband, Jim of Houston, TX, Cindy Lomon of Ft. Smith, AR and Judy Glenn and husband, Charles of Tulsa; eight great-grandchildren, Casi Hefner, Amber (Hill) Sharp and husband, Brad, Anthony Hill, Derek Hefner, Nicole (Coon) Wheeler and husband, Daniel, Parker Johnson, Erin Coon and Alli Lomon; one great-great-grandson, Colten Fiveash; three sisters, Mary Simpson, Betty Limbeck and Naomi Taylor and one brother, Ellis Renfro. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rufus of 62 years; parents and one sister, Jeanette Hilarides. Family will greet friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday @ the Ellis Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 20 at Ellis Funeral Home in Grove. Burial will follow in Fields Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
