Loren Wright

Loren H Wright, age 79, passed away on 19 September, 2013, at Freeman hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on January 5th, 1934 in Olivet, Kansas and he was raised by his mother, BonetaTyson Wright Fuller and father, Jess Fuller and was one of six siblings. Loren grew up in Olivet, Kansas and graduated at Olivet high school and attended college at Chanute Kansas Junior College on a basketball scholarship. Loren married Mary Jane Card in 1954 and had two children, In 1964 he married LaFern Fry and raised two step children. After the passing of LaFern, he reunited with his first wife, Mary Jane in 2006. He spent most of his years around the Emporia, Kansas area and his later years in Grove Oklahoma. Loren medically retired from Kansas Power and Light Company in 1979 after a burn accident. His favorite past time was spent camping all over the US, fishing at Melvern lake and playing pool at the Grove senior center. Loren is also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grove, Oklahoma. Loren was preceded in death by his mother and father Jess and Boneta Fuller, his sisters, Doris and Dixie, brother Jim, his wife LaFern; stepdaughter Barba (Bobbie) and one great grandson Lenny. Loren is survived by his spouse Mary Jane of Grove, Oklahoma; his son Loren David (wife Vickie) Wright, of Grove, Oklahoma; his daughter Lucinda Jane Collins of West Carrollton, Ohio; his stepson Bill (wife Karen) Socha of Hutchinson, Kansas; his sister Dyvonna (husband Jim) Turner of Derby, Kansas; his brother Lee Wright of Americas, Kansas; brother-in-law Walter Osborn of Lyndon, Kansas; grandchildren Loren Paul Wright, Shaun Wright, Bryan Sweeney, Crystal Ringler, Stacy Johnson, Tammara Cornish, Paul Barnes, and Tuesday Preeo; 12 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. An open visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday September 23, 2013 at the Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 1005 Leisure Rd, Grove, Oklahoma at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013. A second service will be held at the Feltner Funeral Home, 822 Topeka Ave, Lyndon, Kansas at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Burial will follow at Alpine Cemetery In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to First United Methodist Church, 1005 Leisure Rd, Grove, Oklahoma 74344.
