Margaret Marie Mullikin passed away after a two year battle with breast cancer in Grove, OK, on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the age of 68. Margaret was born on May 5, 1943 in Ventura, CA to J.B. Carpenter and Frankie Oleta (Harris) Carpenter. Margaret attended Santa Paula High School where she graduated in 1961. Margaret joined the United States Navy Reserves on November 22, 1978. She was activated and deployed to Bahrain during Desert Storm. She retired at the rank of Yeoman Second Class after a 24 year career. Margaret worked in clerical for the Carthage Police Department and retired after 31 years of service. She worked part time for a year and a half for the Meghan Coves as Security Patrol in Grove, OK. Margaret was affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Grove, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and only son, Michael P. Mullikin. She is survived by her sister Rita Heninger and husband Jack; twin brother Earl Carpenter and wife Cara; nieces Terry Ruffell and April Henderson; nephews Steve Coker and Todd Carpenter; daughter-in-law Angie Mullikin and three grandchildren, Sydney Mullikin, Heidi Mullikin, and Zane Mullikin; and step son Charles Mullikin. Terry Ruffell and Charles Mullikin, and Linda George (step sister) were devoted to her care during the two years of treatment, surgery, and hospice care. There will be no services per Margaret's wishes. The arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home in Grove, OK.
