Mary Kathryn (Silversmith) Spicer, 87 year old resident of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away at her home, on September 10, 2018.
Mary was born on February 17, 1931 in Turkey Ford, Oklahoma. She was the loving daughter of Robert Silversmith and Ester (Brokaw) Young. She was united in marriage to Marion Spicer by the Justice of the Peace on May 21, 1956. Mary was an awesome cook, and was very talented crotchetier. Mary had a heart of gold, she dearly loved her family, and no matter how bad the situation seemed at the time, she was always there for you and could always put a smile on your face. Mary worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and was a member of the Council House Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother; Rufus Silversmith. She will be dearly missed by her five sons; Roger David Spicer, Lawrence Alexander Spicer, Johnny O'Neil Spicer, William Bryan Spicer, and Louis Zane Spicer, three daughters; Elizabeth Rose Duncan, Kathryn Frances Spicer-West, Bertha (Corkey) Worley, three brothers; Pat Young, Kenneth Silversmith, Robert Lee Silversmith and one sister, Gloria Silversmith. Mary was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Council House Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Family Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
