Eucha - Mrs. Maryetta Rachel Grandstaff Buzzard the daughter of Sarah M. Bennett and Walter M. Grandstaff was born on Feb. 4, 1913 in Jefferson City, MO. She died on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at home in rural Delaware county. She was united in marriage to Franklin F. Buzzard on April 29, 1937. To this union five children were born: Four sons, Leon, Daniel, David, and Marvin Wayne: One daughter, Inez: Mrs. Buzzard was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her eldest son Leon, her son in law Edward Crawford, her daughter-in law Jo Marie, her parents and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Inez of Lawrence, KS, her sons, Daniel and wife Anna Mae of Tahlequah OK, David of Claremore OK, Marvin Wayne of LeCompton KS, her daughter-in-law Mona Buzzard of Eucha OK, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces and a host of brothers and sisters in the Lord. Frank and Mary moved to California in 1939 and returned to rural Delaware County Oklahoma in 1961. After Frank passed away, Mary spent time with her son Leon and his family, in Arkansas and Georgia and lived with her daughter, Inez in Lawrence, KS. She was a home maker and enjoyed reading her Bible, going to church, listening to gospel music, writing letters to family members, doing word search and crocheting. Mary also enjoyed traveling with her daughter and grand-daughter. While staying in Lawrence Kansas Mary attended the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church and while here in Oklahoma she attended the Landmark Free Holiness Church. To those of us who knew her best, Mom was a very gentle, tender hearted and caring person. Always looking to our needs before those of her own. So in final farewell we say from the bottom of our hearts, Mom we love you and we will miss you so very much. Visitation will be held for family and friends, 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Jay Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home chapel. Services will be held 11:00 a.m.., Friday January 19, 2007 at the Landmark Free Holiness Church, five miles west of Jay on Hwy. 20 then 2 miles North on Hwy. 28, with Mathew Buzzard and Floyd Parks officiating. Internment will be immediately following at Mose Ridge Cemetery in Topsy, Oklahoma.
