Jay - David Michael "Mike" Thole, age 60, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at his residence in Jay, Oklahoma. Mike was born to Carl Thomas Thole and Edith Marie (Oxford) Thole in Ponca City, Oklahoma on July 19, 1948. He graduated from Fairfax High school in Los Angeles California. Mike proudly served his country for two tours in Vietnam. After serving in the Army for eleven years he was honorably discharged as an E-7. He was united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma to Christina "Tina" Law on December 10, 1982. Mike was a self employed mechanic; he enjoyed carpentry, horses, spending time with his dogs, watching movies, and was very versed on politics. For the past two years Mike was his mother's Guardian and one of his proudest achievements was "getting Momma the 120 acre farm". Mike was preceded in death by his father, and one granddaughter Savannah Miller. He is survived by his mother Edith Hendren, his wife Tina of the home, one son Michael "Patrick" and his wife Kacee Thole of Jay, Oklahoma, three daughters Shawna Marie Thole of Tennessee, Contessa Dawne Thole and Carla T. Thole both of Grove, Oklahoma, two brothers, Tommy Thole of Sacramento, California, Bob Thole of Santa Monica, California, three sisters, Patti Redding and her husband Donald of Santa Clarita, California, Elayne Ortiz and her husband Ray of San Diego, California, Linda Kochevar and her husband Ron of Culver City, California, seven grandchildren Laci Thole, Mike Thole, Sierra Miller, Austin Miller, Kyra Wolfenbarger, Tantan Bishop and Ashlynn Bishop, numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 22, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m at the Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., at the Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 23, 2009 with Reverend Jerry Keene Officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Major Jeffrey Weston, Christopher Ortiz , Patrick Thole, John Ortiz , Tommy Thole, and Bobby Thole. Honorary casket bearers will be Gary Wolfenbarger, Larry and Travis Law. Interment will follow with full military honors provided by the American Legion Honor Guard at Olympus North Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma.
