Nancy J. Tillman, 71, a long time resident of Grove passed away at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO on Friday, June 15, 2007. She was born on May 26, 1936 in Wichita, KS to Johnnie Warren and Mary (Fields) Brown. Nancy married Max Tillman on June 22, 1963 in Las Vegas Nevada. Mrs. Tillman was very active in the Grove area, and some of her activities were helping establish the Grove Library, being a past president of the Business and Professional Women's group, the Grand Lake Association along with the Chamber of Commerce. She loved to read and work in her flower garden although she found great satisfaction in the work she did for the Eastern Star. She is a Past Grand Matron for the state of Oklahoma in 1997. She was also the General Grand Chapter Ambassador to Australia for the Eastern star. Mrs. Tillman is preceded in death by her parents Johnnie Brown, Barbara "Reischman" Brown, Mary "Fields" Brown and a son Mark Christopher Nottingham. Nancy is survived by her husband Max L. Tillman, three children John W. Nottingham and Max L. Tillman Jr. both of Grove, Michele Tillman Keller of Overland Park, KS, Grandchildren include Marcus Tillman, Lee Tillman, Christina Nottingham, Lindsey Nottingham, Tyler Doublehead and Michele is expecting twins in September. Great-grandchildren Alana Nottingham and Cooper Wilson along with one sister Treva Klingler also survive. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Grove, with Pastor Nolan Scarberry officiating. The Eastern Star rites will be given at the Church. Interment will follow at the Olympus Cemetery under the direction of the Ellis Family Funeral Home. Donations maybe made in lieu of flowers to Stars for Oklahoma Grand Chapters Order of Eastern Star, 2117 E. 55 Court, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105-6109.
