Pegge Smothers

Pegge M. Smothers, age 59, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014 surrounded by her family. Pegge was born on October 16, 1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Mildred (Proffitt) Smothers. Pegge traveled with her family during her youth and attended high school in Beirut, Lebanon. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with an accounting degree. Pegge lived in Ruidoso, New Mexico before moving to her family home on Grand Lake about eight years ago. Pegge enjoyed reading, embroidery, sewing, and collecting Hallmark ornaments. She loved spending time outside; water skiing and boating on the lake. Pegge loved to travel; while going to school in Beirut Lebanon she traveled to Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Morocco. Most of all Pegge enjoyed spending time with her family and her close friends; she was the "Hostess" and enjoyed having people at her home. Pegge was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son Travis Ingels and his wife Ashley Johnson-Ingels, two sisters Becke Kidwell and Sunnie Coombs , one brother Neal Smothers and his wife Betty, four nieces, two nephews, one great niece and one great nephew. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
