Philip Owens

Zena - After a long battle with cancer, Philip Irons Owens went to be with the Lord February 13, 2007. Son of Otto R. Owens and Vernal (Irons) Owens, Phil was born June 24, 1931 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Phil attended Mark Twain Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Tulsa Central. Phil was united in marriage May 17, 1982 to Emma (Roberts) Killion in Hemphill Texas. Phil served from November 1951 until November of 1953 in the United States Marines. After fifteen years, Phil retired in 1995 as a Security Officer for Shangri-La Resort. Phil was a longtime resident of the Zena community, and a member of the Zena Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Emma Owens of the home, one brother Keith Owens and wife Merline of Tulsa Oklahoma, three daughters LaVern Johnson and her husband Rick of Zena Oklahoma, Jennifer Snow and husband Keith of Grove Oklahoma, Jodee Brown of Lee's Summit Missouri, three sons, Tom Killion and wife Dee of Miami Oklahoma, Henry Killion of Jay Oklahoma, Warren Killion and wife Carla of Zena Oklahoma, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Phil was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Shirley Ruth Orr. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home of Grove Oklahoma.
