Grove- Robert Lyle Hardnock died February 15, 2007 at the Betty Ann Nursing Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Robert was born on November 24, 1931 to Henry and Lyle (Shank) Hardnock in Grand Island Nebraska. He proudly served our country in the United States Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant from December of 1948 until September of 1952. After returning from service, Robert married Joyce Clayton November 29, 1953 in Grand Island Nebraska. Robert was a Conductor for Union Pacific Railroads until he retired in 1991. Robert was a member of The River Church in Grove Oklahoma. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Survivors include his wife Joyce of the home, four daughters, Sharon Ruckmand and husband Paul, Karen Schoel and husband Wes all of Grove Oklahoma, Sandy Fisher and husband Stan of Colorado Springs Colorado, and Kathy Thorton and husband James of North Platte Nebraska, one brother, Henry Hardnock and wife Jean of Midland Texas, and two sisters, Joan Johnson and Carolyn Eaker and husband Bill, both from Colorado Springs Colorado. A visitation will be held for family and friend Tuesday, February 20, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ellis Family Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Grove Oklahoma. Burial will be Friday, February 23, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell Nebraska.
