Ruby Milton

Ruby M. Milton, 92, of Grove, Oklahoma, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Grove Nursing Center. She was born August 22, 1915 in Blanco, Oklahoma to Henry L. Hess and Stella Derry. Her father worked for the railroad and traveled by horse drawn wagon. During World War II she worked as a sheet metal worker for Lockheed Aircraft on the P-38 aircraft and was referred to as "Rosie The Riveter". She was married to George E. Milton in Jasper, Missouri in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a devoted mother and Homemaker, and was a lifelong member of the Southern Baptist Church. Survivors include her son Wayne Milton of Grove, Oklahoma, brother Glen Hess of San Bernardino, California, numerous grand and great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Ruby Milton will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove , Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Olympus Cemetery in Grove.
